CASE STUDY 1: Tool for generating deforestation and burning alerts
The Amazon Regional Observatory has developed a methodological tool based on an algorithm that allows generating deforestation and burning alerts. The methodology has three fundamental parts, the pre-processing of satellite data, the analysis of images and the interpretation of the results obtained. The entire methodology was developed on the Google Earth Engine platform, therefore the algorithm script and an application are available.
In order to use the tool, the following steps must be followed:
Next, the developed application is presented:
CASE STUDY 2: Tool to detect changes in forest cover and other land uses.
The Amazon Regional Observatory has developed a case study on a methodological tool that allows processing and generating information about the spatial distribution of forests and other land use covers, defined within the framework of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) guidelines. The methodology demonstrates the application of artificial intelligence through the use of machine learning algorithms, to obtain the spatial distribution of forests and other covers. The entire methodology was developed on the Google Earth Engine platform, so it has the algorithm script.
In order to use the tool, the following steps must be followed.
