The Amazon Regional Observatory fosters the flow of information between institutions and intergovernmental authorities of the Member Countries, linked to the study of the Amazon, becoming a reference center for regional scientific-technological information and socio-cultural diversity of the Amazon.

NDC of Forests

What is the NDC?: NDC means Nationally Determined Contribution, It is a commitment or a promise of a country, at an international level, that identifies yours efforts in future climate change. The NDCs are fundamental to the global response to the threat of climate change, agreed to at the Paris Agreement (PA) under the United Nations Frame Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2015.

The NDC of each country is not isolated. With all the efforts made within the frame of the PA, it is destined to achieve the triple objective of the Agreement, namely: a) Keep the increase in global average temperature below 2°C concerning pre-industrial levels, and continue efforts to limit this increase to 1.5°C; b) Increase the capacity to adapt to the adverse impacts of climate change and promote climate resilience, and c) Make financial flows will be compatible with a path that leads to climate-resilient development and with low emission of greenhouse gas (GHG) (art. 2.1 AP)
